We complete the following things to ensure you a quality paint job on your home:

 

POWER WASHING   

The first thing you learn about paint is that you need a clean, dull, and dry surface to paint.  To remove old dirt and debris; we powerwash at 2000 – 3000 psi to clean your home.  Power washing is a must in West Texas and is probably the single most important things you can do to prep your home. 

         

SCRAPING AND WOOD REPAIR

After power washing we scrape by hand with knives and wire brushes to remove any loose, bubbled, or loose paint.  In cases where the wood is badley peeling we can use palm sanders and specialized grinders to smooth the wood to make old peeling wood look almost new again. This service is more Labor intensive and will increase the cost of your investment.  All loose boards are nailed down and we have carpenters to handle any minor agreed upon repairs.

 

SPOT PRIMING

After the first two stages of preparation have been completed we begin priming bare spots with exterior primer.  The primer creates a surface that is acceptable for painting.  Even the best paints need a primer under them to ensure the best possible adhesion of the top coat.

         

CAULKING

A quality 40-50 year caulk should always be used on your home. The fresh paint on your home is only as good as the caulk under it.  At PRO-TECH we take our preparation seriously and we will caulk all seams, joints, cracks, nail holes.  We use only top Quality caulk on all our jobs..

 

TOP COAT

After power washing, scraping, spot priming, and caulking we use high quality paint to top coat your home.  We prefer to use top quality paints from Sherwin-Williams, Pittsburg or Benjamin Moore.  At your request, we will use another top quality brand of paint.
